[USA]:LEGEND OF THE LAKERS, ELGIN BAYLOR DIES AT 86.

The Lakers and the NBA in mourning. Elgin Baylor, 86, died on Monday of natural causes. A native of Washington DC, he went through Idaho and Seattle at the University before being chosen in first position in the 1958 Draft by the Minneapolis Lakers. Baylor will spend his entire career under the colors of this club, between Minnesota and Los Angeles, with a title of Rookie of the year in 1959, 11 caps for the All Star Game and 27.4 points average. Retired from the prosecution in 1971 without winning the supreme title, Elgin Baylor then served as coach of the New Orleans Jazz in the 1970s and vice-president of basketball operations with the LA Clippers for more than 20 years and until in 2008.
