Calum Langmuir Shines at 2025 FIS Alpine Championships

Calum Langmuir qualifies for the Giant Slalom final at the 2025 FIS Alpine Championships in Saalbach, Austria.

The 2025 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Saalbach, Austria, are heating up, particularly in the Giant Slalom event. As of February 14, 2025, the Men`s Giant Slalom competition is underway, showcasing top athletes battling for supremacy. The current leader clocked an impressive time of 1:21.10, with fierce competition trailing closely behind at intervals of +0.02, +0.24, +0.45, +0.62, and +0.63 seconds.

Among the standout performers is Calum Langmuir, a 22-year-old skier from Nethy Bridge, Scotland. Langmuir has made a significant mark by qualifying for the Giant Slalom final, finishing fifth out of a competitive field of 130 racers. As a member of the British Alpine Europa Cup Team, his progression to the final is a testament to his skill and determination. Previously, Langmuir competed in the Team Parallel discipline but faced a setback when he and his teammate crashed out in the first round against France, resulting in a 14th place finish for the team. He is set to compete in the Slalom event on Sunday, adding to the excitement surrounding his performance.

In other championship events, Italy claimed gold in the Mixed Team Parallel competition, with Switzerland taking silver and Sweden securing bronze. The USA finished fourth, followed by Germany, Austria, Norway, France, Argentina, and Poland in the rankings.
