Nick Haness Dominates WCHR Central Hunter Spectacular

Nick Haness shines at WCHR, while young talents emerge in showmanship and a Yorkshire cowgirl preps for barrel racing glory.

Nick Haness has once again proven his mettle in the equestrian world, clinching his second consecutive victory at the prestigious World Championship Hunter Rider (WCHR) Central Hunter Spectacular in Traverse City, Michigan. Riding the elegant mare Odette, Haness showcased not only his exceptional skill but also the remarkable quality of his horse, navigating a fiercely competitive field with poise and precision. This triumph further cements Haness`s reputation as a leading figure in the hunter division.

Meanwhile, the Mecosta County Fair buzzed with youthful energy as aspiring equestrians took to the ring for equine showmanship competitions on July 13, 2025. Young riders proudly earned 1st Place ribbons, signaling a vibrant and promising talent pool emerging at the grassroots level of the sport.

Across the pond, a teenage cowgirl from Yorkshire is gearing up for the youth and teen world championships in barrel racing, set to attract around 2,500 young riders under 18 years old. Known for its chaotic and competitive atmosphere, this championship has seen UK riders shine in past events, earning coveted belt buckles and prize money, solidifying their status on the international barrel racing stage.
