Shishkin set for Cheltenham Gold Cup

In order to secure his spot in the Cheltenham Gold Cup for next month, Shishkin had to put in a lot of effort prior to achieving his first victory of the year.

After declining to compete in his season-opening race at Ascot, the horse ridden by Nicky Henderson upset jockey Nico de Boinville at Kempton the previous time around.


However, the 8-11 favorite won the Denman Chase at Newbury by holding off both Hitman and Protektorat.
