AFLW 2025 Season Preview: New Faces and Returning Stars

As the NAB 2025 AFLW season approaches, teams are finalizing their lists following the recent Trade Period and Telstra AFLW Draft. Several clubs are set to benefit from an influx of youth and new talent, while others will see the return of key players from injury.

At Adelaide, the depth of the list has been enhanced with several new inclusions. Lilly Baker could push her way into the side, potentially freeing up Poppy Boltz to play higher up the ground. Neasa Dooley is eyeing the mid-sized forward spot currently held by Ellie Hampson, and West Australian Claudia Wright may challenge for a place on the wing or in the forward line. Ash Centra and former Hawk Mattea Breed are expected to play significant roles, with Centra at centre half-forward and Breed offering strength and power through the midfield. Sydney made significant moves during the Trade Period, with all incoming trades expected to be in their best side. The team's depth has been significantly enhanced, with new players like Charlotte Baskaran, Amber Clarke, and Zoe Besanko set to make an impact.
