Grant Fisher`s world record at the Keely Klassic highlights exceptional performances by Wycombe Phoenix in cross-country and indoor events.

Grant Fisher`s remarkable performance at the Keely Klassic has set a new world indoor 5000m record, marking a significant milestone in the indoor athletics season. This event has seen British records tumble, showcasing the exceptional talent present in the sport today.

The Wycombe Phoenix athletics club has also made headlines with their impressive results in cross-country events. At the Buckinghamshire County Cross Country Championships, the Under-13 Girls` Team secured bronze medals, while the Under-15 Boys` Team clinched gold. Individual accolades were earned by Finn Hayward, who took silver, and Dylan Leigh, who achieved bronze. In the senior categories, Natasha Taylor won silver in the Senior Women`s race, contributing to the Senior Men`s team`s remarkable silver finish in the team event.

The club`s success continued in the Chiltern League, where the Under-15 Boys` Team earned the silver team prize, and both Hayward and Leigh secured individual medals. The Senior Men`s Team dominated Division One, while the Veteran Men`s Team finished second, with Derek Lloyd claiming individual gold in the V50 category.

Athletes from Wycombe Phoenix are gearing up for the highly anticipated English National Cross-Country Championships at Parliament Hill, London, on 22nd February 2025. In indoor athletics, Aoife McAuley and Florence Lee Rubis excelled at the South of England Under-20 Indoor Combined Events Championships, with Florence setting a new club record in the 60m hurdles.
