Forest fined Ā£750,000 for Attwell VAR post

For a "attack on the integrity of a match official on an unparalleled scale" that occurred after a social media post last season, Nottingham Forest was fined Ā£750,000 by the Football Association. When Forest complained on social networking platform X about three penalty rulings that went against them during a 2-0 loss to relegation rivals Everton on April 21, they alleged that video assistant referee (VAR) Stuart Attwell was a supporter of Luton Town, who were also fighting relegation at the time.
