PSG Focuses on Youth Development Ahead of Coupe de France

:Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is gearing up for their first-round match in the Coupe de France against RC Lens, with a clear emphasis on developing their young talent rather than seeking reinforcements in the January transfer window. According to manager Luis Enrique, the current squad is strong enough, and the focus will be on nurturing the emerging players.

PSG, leading Ligue 1 with 40 points and a 10-point gap over second-placed Marseille, has undergone significant changes since the departure of key players like Kylian Mbappe, Manuel Ugarte, and Danilo Pereira last season. Enrique highlighted the shift from big-money signings to a more measured approach, stating, `Itā€™s difficult to improve our squad. We want to develop our young talents.`

The team is preparing for a demanding second half of the season, with Enrique noting the importance of rest for the players to perform optimally. Goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma is currently out with a facial injury, while defender Nuno Mendes is fit and likely to feature against Lens after recovering from a thigh injury.

PSG's struggles in the Champions League, where they are ranked 25th, contrast with their domestic dominance. However, Enrique remains optimistic about their chances, emphasizing the need for the team to be at their best to stay alive in the competition.
