Ed Sheeran takes minority stake in Ipswich Town

The pop star Ed Sheeran has acquired a minority stake in Ipswich Town, the club announced on Thursday after being promoted to the Premier League. The 33-year-old English singer-songwriter (a lifelong Ipswich supporter) has taken a 1.4% stake in the club, having been the shirt sponsor of their men's and women's teams since 2021. "I'm delighted to have acquired a small percentage of the football club of my hometown," said Mr. Sheeran. "It's every football fan's dream to own the club they support."
