The passing seconds within the storm progressively deteriorate the player's HP. Since the game's inception, the storm has evolved into one of its pivotal elements.
In Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4, participants must cause harm to adversaries before the initial storm circle contracts, a prerequisite for the "Fortnitemares Trick Or Treat" quest, yielding 15,000 XP upon fulfillment.
