Sea Eagles Soar with 42-12 Victory Over Cowboys

Manly Sea Eagles triumphed over North Queensland Cowboys 42-12, with standout performances from Tom Trbojevic and Haumole Olakau`atu.

Manly Sea Eagles kicked off the 2025 NRL season in spectacular fashion, dominating the North Queensland Cowboys with a decisive 42-12 victory. The Sea Eagles wasted no time, scoring their first try just three minutes into the match when Haumole Olakau`atu broke through the Cowboys` defense. Jason Saab and Ben Trbojevic quickly followed suit, establishing a commanding 16-0 lead within the first 11 minutes.

The Cowboys struggled to find their rhythm throughout the game, failing to mount a significant challenge until late in the second half. Scott Drinkwater and Braidon Burns managed to score for North Queensland, but it was too little, too late. Tom Trbojevic was named Player of the Match, with Olakau`atu and Daly Cherry-Evans also earning accolades for their standout performances. The match took place at 4 Pines Park, drawing a crowd of 17,375 enthusiastic fans.

In other NRL action, the South Sydney Rabbitohs narrowly defeated the Dolphins in a match relocated due to a cyclone, while the Canterbury Bulldogs triumphed over the St. George Illawarra Dragons.

NRL and Rugby League fans have plenty to look forward to this season.
