The Sea Eagles wasted no time, scoring their first try just three minutes into the match when Haumole Olakau`atu broke through the Cowboys` defense. Jason Saab and Ben Trbojevic quickly followed suit, establishing a commanding 16-0 lead within the first 11 minutes.

The Cowboys struggled to find their rhythm throughout the game, failing to mount a significant challenge until late in the second half. Scott Drinkwater and Braidon Burns managed to score for North Queensland, but it was too little, too late.
