St. John`s lacrosse lost to Delaware 17-10, despite Ryan Ormond`s five goals and strong team efforts.
St. John`s lacrosse team faced a tough defeat against No. 18 Delaware, losing 17-10 at Delaware Stadium. The Red Storm started strong, leading 9-7 at halftime, but faltered in the second half, getting outscored 8-1. Ryan Ormond showcased his talent with five goals, four scored in the first half, bringing his season total to 11 goals. Brian Kelly contributed significantly with two goals and three assists, leading the team with 11 points this season.
Adrian Nowak continued to support the offense with three assists, while Dan Koban and Bobby Seel added to the scoreline. Seel`s goal extended his impressive point streak to 18 games. Sophomore James Easton celebrated his first career goal, and freshman Jayson Cardenas recorded his first collegiate point with an assist. The Red Storm`s offense was effective on man-up situations, scoring three goals, the most since April 2023.
Defensively, Dylan Lee and Quinn Falasca each collected three groundballs and caused turnovers. Matt Nelson made his first career start in goal, achieving 12 saves. In another matchup, American University struggled against No. 16 Loyola Maryland, losing 17-4, with Brendan Powers leading Loyola with six goals. The Dickinson men`s lacrosse team is gearing up for their season opener against No. 13 Stevens Institute of Technology, aiming for a fourth consecutive Centennial Conference title.
