Rwanda Women triumph over Malawi with a stunning 49-run victory, setting the stage for their next match against Nigeria.

Rwanda Women showcased their cricketing prowess in a commanding performance against Malawi Women at the Gahanga International Cricket Stadium. Scoring 109 runs for the loss of just four wickets in their allotted 20 overs, Rwanda set a challenging target. The highlight of their innings was Henriette Ishimwe, who anchored the team with a solid 30 runs, complemented by Shakila Niyomuhoza`s valuable contribution of 20 runs.

In response, Malawi Women struggled to find their rhythm, crumbling to a mere 60 runs in just 17.4 overs. The bowling attack of Rwanda proved too formidable, with A Ikuzwe leading the charge, claiming an impressive four wickets for just nine runs. Bimenyimana and Ishimwe also made significant impacts with the ball, taking three and two wickets, respectively. This decisive 49-run victory not only boosts Rwanda`s confidence but also sets the stage for their next challenge.

On June 6, 2025, Rwanda Women will face Nigeria Women in what promises to be another thrilling encounter at the same venue. The Gahanga International Cricket Stadium, known for its batting-friendly conditions, will be a battleground for both teams as they vie for supremacy in the Kwibuka Women’s T20I Tournament.
