The highlight of their innings was Henriette Ishimwe, who anchored the team with a solid 30 runs, complemented by Shakila Niyomuhoza`s valuable contribution of 20 runs.

In response, Malawi Women struggled to find their rhythm, crumbling to a mere 60 runs in just 17.4 overs. The bowling attack of Rwanda proved too formidable, with A Ikuzwe leading the charge, claiming an impressive four wickets for just nine runs. Bimenyimana and Ishimwe also made significant impacts with the ball, taking three and two wickets, respectively.
