Jake Wightman made a remarkable return to competitive athletics by clinching the gold medal in the Men's Senior 3000m at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow on January 4, 2025. After facing significant injury challenges over the past 18 months, Wightman showcased his resilience and talent by achieving a Championship Best Performance with a time of 7:44.94, surpassing his target of around 7:50. In the women's category, Sarah Calvert of Livingston AC emerged victorious, achieving a personal best time of 9:15.67. She finished ahead of Stefanie Tucker from Cambuslang Harriers and Lynn McKenna of Shettleston Harriers. Other notable performances included Reiss Marshall winning the U20 Men's gold in 8:20.77, Zara Redmond taking the U20 Women's title in 9:40.29, and Eilidh Dallas securing the U17 Women's gold in 9:48.68.
