George Mills from Brighton Phoenix delivered a stunning performance at the 2025 Microplus UK Athletics Indoor Championships in Birmingham, winning the men`s 3000m with a remarkable time of 7:40.16, breaking the championship record by nearly ten seconds. This victory not only secured his first national title but also a spot at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Apeldoorn. James West from Tonbridge followed closely, taking silver with a time of 7:40.33, also qualifying for the European indoors.
In the men`s 1500m, Neil Gourley from Giffnock North set a new championship record with a time of 3:38.84, reclaiming his title and ensuring his place at the European indoors alongside silver medalist Thomas Keen from Cambridge & Coleridge. Scott Lincoln from City of York achieved his 10th men`s shot put title with a throw of 20.86m, establishing a new championship record.
