Canberra Raiders` new recruit Ethan Sanders showcased his talent in a thrilling NRL trial match against the Penrith Panthers. The 21-year-old former Parramatta Eels halfback played a pivotal role in guiding the Raiders to victory, setting up the opening try with a clever dummy and offload to Simi Sasagi. His performance has raised expectations for the upcoming season, despite the likelihood of not starting in the halves. Fullback Chevy Stewart also impressed with his speed and bravery under pressure.

The Warriors faced a challenging outing against the Sharks, ending in a 12-all draw. Star winger Dallin Watene-Zelezniak suffered a wrist injury early in the match, casting doubt on his fitness for the season opener in Las Vegas. Taine Tuaupiki stepped up in his absence, scoring a try, while Luke Metcalf shone in his debut as halfback for the Sharks.
