Canberra Raiders showcased their potential with a commanding victory over the Penrith Panthers in the recent NRL trials. The standout performer was 21-year-old halfback Ethan Sanders, who made an immediate impact after joining from the Parramatta Eels. Sanders not only set up the opening try but also orchestrated the team`s play, leading them to a well-deserved win despite not being slated to start the season in the halves. Fullback Chevy Stewart also impressed with his speed and bravery under pressure.

The Warriors faced a challenging match against the Sharks, ending in a 12-12 draw. Unfortunately, winger Dallin Watene-Zelezniak suffered a wrist injury early in the game. Despite this setback, Taine Tuaupiki managed to score a try in the second half, showcasing the team`s resilience. Jett Cleary, younger brother of Nathan Cleary, made his debut but had limited opportunities after coming on in the 60th minute.

Meanwhile, the Brisbane Broncos opted to rest their star players, giving fringe players a chance to shine against the Burleigh Bears.
