India has made history at the Kho Kho World Cup 2025 held in New Delhi, clinching the championship titles for both the men`s and women`s teams. Under the leadership of captain Pratik Waikar, the men`s team showcased remarkable speed and strategy, while the women`s team, featuring standout player Nasreen Shaikh, displayed exceptional skill throughout the tournament.

The transition of kho kho from outdoor grassy fields to indoor mats has significantly boosted its profile, making it the third most-watched non-cricket sports tournament in India, following the Pro Kabaddi League and the Indian Super League football competition.
