Remo Stars defeated Sunshine Stars 2-1, maintaining their lead in the NPFL with 45 points.

Remo Stars solidified their position at the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) after a thrilling 2-1 victory against Sunshine Stars on Match Day 22. The match, held at the Remo Stars International Stadium, saw Alex Oyomah open the scoring in the 7th minute, followed by Ibrahim Abubakar doubling the lead in the 28th minute. Despite a spirited effort from Sunshine Stars, who managed to pull one back through Matthew Samuel in the 67th minute, they could not find an equalizer.

With this win, Remo Stars now boast 45 points from 22 matches, maintaining a six-point lead over second-placed Shooting Stars SC of Ibadan. Their impressive away performance this season has been highlighted by four victories on the road, showcasing their resilience and determination as they push towards the NPFL championship.

In other league action, Enyimba faced Heartland in a tightly contested match that ended in a 1-1 draw. Joseph Atule`s equalizer for Enyimba in the 55th minute salvaged a point after Heartland had taken the lead in the 18th minute. Enyimba currently sits in ninth place with 28 points from 20 matches, while Heartland occupies the 13th position with 26 points from 21 games.
