Enyimba and Rivers United drew in crucial NPFL matches, impacting their standings as Remo Stars extended their lead.

Enyimba FC and Rivers United FC faced disappointing draws in their recent Nigeria Premier Football League matches, failing to capitalize on their home advantage. Enyimba battled Heartland FC to a 1-1 stalemate, with Daniel Ekpo striking first for Heartland in the 19th minute, only for Joseph Atule to equalize for Enyimba in the 56th minute. This result leaves Enyimba in ninth place with 28 points from 20 matches, while Heartland sits in 13th with 26 points from 21 matches.

In Port Harcourt, Rivers United also drew 2-2 against Bendel Insurance. Meyiwa Oritseweyinmi opened the scoring for Insurance in the 6th minute, but John Ubong Friday leveled the match for Rivers United in the 35th minute. Uche Collins restored Insurance`s lead, but Handsome Surveyor equalized just two minutes later. This draw extended Rivers United`s winless streak in 2025, with their last victory coming against Kwara United.

Other notable matches saw Katsina United edge Plateau United 2-1, with a penalty kick sealing the win in added time. Niger Tornadoes triumphed over Kwara United 2-1, with Ifeanyi Okechukwu scoring in the first minute and Abdulrasheed adding another in the 86th minute. Remo Stars, the league leaders, showcased their resilience by coming back to defeat Abia Warriors 3-2, extending their lead to eight points with 42 points from 21 matches. El Kanemi Warriors climbed to fourth place after a 2-1 victory over Enugu Rangers, while Ikorodu United secured a commanding 4-1 win against Kano Pillars.

The current NPFL standings reflect Remo Stars at the top with 42 points, followed by Shooting Stars with 36 points, and Rivers United with 35 points. Enyimba remains in ninth place, while Heartland is in 13th.
