Adrian Newey joins Aston Martin, focusing on 2026 F1 regulations while facing challenges with Ferrari`s Cardile.

Adrian Newey has officially commenced his role as managing technical partner at Aston Martin, a pivotal move aimed at reshaping the team`s strategy for the upcoming Formula 1 seasons. With a keen focus on maximizing the potential of Honda and Aramco, Newey is set to develop a concept that not only meets the 2026 F1 regulations but also incorporates innovative features that could outpace rival teams. His expertise is expected to be crucial in enhancing engine performance, a key area of emphasis in the new regulations.

However, Aston Martin faces a challenge as Ferrari is reportedly blocking the onboarding of Enrico Cardile, their aerodynamics chief, who was slated to become the chief technical officer. Cardile`s start date has now been postponed until July 17, creating uncertainty around the team`s aerodynamic strategies.

Meanwhile, Red Bull is under pressure to deliver strong performances early in the 2025 season to keep star driver Max Verstappen satisfied. A lackluster start could complicate team dynamics, making it essential for Red Bull to hit the ground running.
