Sainz Shines as Ferrari Leads Bahrain F1 Pre-Season Test

Carlos Sainz leads Bahrain F1 pre-season testing, while Red Bull`s Max Verstappen expresses confidence in their 2025 car.

Carlos Sainz showcased his prowess on the second day of Formula 1`s pre-season test in Bahrain, clocking the fastest lap of the event thus far. His impressive performance saw him finish ahead of teammates Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, who secured second and third places respectively. The day began with light rain, which caused some teams to delay their practice sessions.

Max Verstappen expressed optimism regarding Red Bull`s 2025 challenger, emphasizing that it represents a significant upgrade over last year`s model. He confidently stated that the new car "can`t be worse than last year," hinting at the team`s ambitions for the upcoming season.

In British GT news, former GT4 champion Jack Mitchell is set to return to the series with Mahiki Racing, partnering with Lake in one of their Lotus entries. Meanwhile, TT stars Peter Hickman and Davey Todd have launched the new 8Ten Racing team, which will receive support from Motorrad UK for the 2025 BSB and Isle of Man TT races.

The British XC Championship saw Dexter Hind claim victory in the Youth race, while Joey Jones celebrated his second consecutive win in the Junior category.
