Despite American`s efforts to close the gap, UMBC maintained their composure, extending their lead to 11-6 in the third quarter. Nelson`s unassisted goal and Libby Staples` assist sealed the victory.
In men`s lacrosse, the Coast Guard Bears broke their six-game losing streak, defeating Nichols 17-7. Eric Key was the standout performer, racking up ten points, while Mason Tucker dominated face-offs. The Bears` strong performance sets a positive tone for the rest of the season.
