Logarzo Out, Hughes In for Matildas

Football Australia has announced a significant change in the CommBank Matildas squad ahead of their final international match of 2024 against Chinese Taipei. Midfielder Chloe Logarzo will be unavailable due to a concussion sustained during the opening fixture against Chinese Taipei at Melbourne’s AAMI Park. Despite recovering from her symptoms, Logarzo has been withdrawn from the squad in accordance with the Concussion Graduated Return to Play Protocols.

To fill the gap, Melbourne City FC midfielder Laura Hughes has been called up to the senior national team. Hughes, a key player in Melbourne City’s 2023/24 Ninja A-League Premiership winning side and current 2024/25 season league leaders, is set to make her debut.

The match against Chinese Taipei is scheduled for Saturday, 7 December 2024, at GMHBA Stadium in Geelong, with kick-off at 7:30 PM AEDT. The game will be broadcast live on 10, 10 Bold, 10 Play, and Paramount+.
