Melbourne Victory clinched a decisive 2-0 victory against Brisbane Roar in the final match of the 2024/25 Ninja A-League Women regular season at AAMI Park on April 19, 2025. The match remained scoreless until the 43rd minute when Nikki Flannery unleashed a stunning strike into the top left corner, leaving Brisbane goalkeeper Keeley Richards with no chance.

In the second half, Alex Chidiac extended Victory`s lead in the 54th minute, skillfully guiding the ball through the legs of the Roar goalkeeper after a deflected shot from Holly Furphy. Brisbane`s hopes were dashed when Japanese midfielder Momo Hayashi received a red card for dissent around the 60th minute, leaving the Roar a player down.
