Melbourne Victory`s 2-0 win over Brisbane Roar featured goals from Flannery and Chidiac, showcasing their dominance in the A-League Women.

Melbourne Victory clinched a decisive 2-0 victory against Brisbane Roar in the final match of the 2024/25 Ninja A-League Women regular season at AAMI Park on April 19, 2025. The match remained scoreless until the 43rd minute when Nikki Flannery unleashed a stunning strike into the top left corner, leaving Brisbane goalkeeper Keeley Richards with no chance.

In the second half, Alex Chidiac extended Victory`s lead in the 54th minute, skillfully guiding the ball through the legs of the Roar goalkeeper after a deflected shot from Holly Furphy. Brisbane`s hopes were dashed when Japanese midfielder Momo Hayashi received a red card for dissent around the 60th minute, leaving the Roar a player down. Melbourne Victory maintained control throughout the second half, with substitutes Ella O`Grady and Rosie Curtis applying constant pressure. O`Grady nearly added a third goal, hitting the post in the 90th minute.

Paige Zois made a heartwarming return from injury, marking her first appearance of the season alongside Jessica Young, much to the crowd`s delight. Brisbane Roar captain Tameka Yallop had an impressive season, finishing as the second all-time top goal scorer in the league and leading her team with five hat tricks. Meanwhile, Melbourne City secured the Premier`s Plate with a commanding 5-1 victory over Perth Glory, solidifying their dominance this season.
