Pidcock Withdraws from Tour de France 2025

Tom Pidcock withdraws from the 2025 Tour de France; Australian Championships feature impressive performances from Durbridge and Stewart.

Tom Pidcock has announced he will not participate in the 2025 Tour de France, a significant decision for the cycling community. Meanwhile, at the Australian Road National Championships, Luke Durbridge clinched the men`s road race title, with teammate Luke Plapp sacrificing his own chances for Durbridge`s victory. Lucinda Stewart showcased her dominance by winning both the women`s U23 and elite titles at the same event.

In the British Cyclocross National Championships, Cameron Mason secured his third consecutive elite title, while Xan Crees triumphed in the elite women`s category, narrowly defeating Cat Ferguson. Thibau Nys made headlines by winning his first Belgian Cyclocross National Championships title through a late solo attack. The Dutch Cyclocross Championships saw Tibor del Grosso emerge victorious in the elite men`s race after a fierce three-way contest, and Puck Pieterse claimed her second title in the women`s category with a solo performance.

The Australian Championships also featured notable performances, with Julian Baudry winning the U23 men`s road race title through a confident solo effort. John Carter took home the men`s U23 Australian criterium title, while Sam Welsford delighted the Perth crowd by winning the elite men`s criterium. Amber Pate dominated the elite women`s criterium, securing her second title, and Keira Will earned the U23 jersey. Luke Plapp added to his accolades by winning his third elite Australian time trial title after a close contest with Jay Vine, while Brodie Chapman was crowned the new elite women`s time trial champion, with Alli Anderson taking the U23 title.

Additionally, the UCI has introduced new regulations for 2025, including a ban on celebrations behind winners and restrictions on feeding outside designated zones. Filippo Ganna expressed his thoughts on Paris-Roubaix, stating it "isn`t cycling, it`s a different sport." Miguel Indurain highlighted Tadej Pogačar as a top contender for the 2025 Tour de France, citing his strength, team support, and motivation as key factors.
