In the ongoing Test series against Sri Lanka, Australia showcased their dominance by winning the first Test by an innings and 242 runs. The second Test is set to take place from February 6-10 at the Galle International Stadium. Teenage opener Sam Konstas, who missed the first Test due to illness and a reshuffled batting order, is expected to return to Australia and compete for New South Wales in the Sheffield Shield match against Queensland starting February 8.
Domestic cricket continues to thrive with the Sheffield Shield 2024-25 season in full swing. Upcoming matches include Tasmanian Tigers Men facing Victoria Men at Bellerive Oval from February 7-11, Queensland Bulls taking on NSW Men at The Gabba from February 8-11, and Western Australia Men clashing with South Australia Men at WACA Ground from February 8-11. Additionally, the One-Day Cup 2024-25 features a match between Tasmanian Tigers Men and NSW Men at the University of Tasmania Stadium on February 5.
In women`s cricket, the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL) 2024-25 is also gearing up for action, with several matches scheduled, including NSW Women vs. South Australia Women at Cricket Central, Sydney Olympic Park on February 6, ACT Meteors vs. Western Australia Women at EPC Solar Park, Canberra on February 6, and Victoria Women vs. Queensland Fire at CitiPower Centre, Melbourne on February 6.
