Mercy University Basketball Shines with Historic Season

Mercy University basketball celebrates a historic season with standout performances and a promising future ahead.

Mercy University’s men’s basketball team has made waves this season, recording their most wins since 2019 and coming tantalizingly close to qualifying for the ECC Championship. The squad, led by standout performances, has shown resilience and determination, culminating in a thrilling 64-59 victory against UDC on February 15th.

Ethan Robertson has emerged as a force to be reckoned with, scoring a career-high 32 points in a single game, while Holloway added 21 points to the mix. Chiles dazzled with a career-high 15 assists, showcasing the team`s depth and talent. With an overall record of 7-15 and a respectable 6-7 in ECC play, the team is on the rise. Notably, Makanjuola earned the title of ECC Defensive Player of the Week, and Robertson was named Rookie of the Week for the fifth time, highlighting the individual accolades that accompany the team’s success.

Looking ahead, the excitement continues with the upcoming 2025 Players Era Festival in Las Vegas, set for November 24-27, 2025. This major college basketball event will feature 18 men’s teams and four women’s teams, promising to showcase the brightest talents in the sport.
