India Dominates Macau 5-0 at Badminton Asia Mixed Team

India secured a dominant 5-0 victory over Macau in the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships, showcasing strong performances across all matches.

India kicked off their campaign at the 2025 Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships with an impressive 5-0 victory over Macau. The match took place at the Qingdao Sports Centre Conson Gymnasium in China on February 12.

The mixed doubles team of Satish Kumar Karunakaran and Aadya Variyath set the tone for the day, winning decisively with scores of 21-10, 21-9 against Macau`s Leong Iok Chong and Weng Chi Ng. Following this, Lakshya Sen showcased his skills in the men`s singles, overcoming Pang Fong Pui with a solid performance, finishing 21-16, 21-12.

In the absence of star player PV Sindhu, Malvika Bansod stepped up, delivering a commanding 21-15, 21-9 victory over Hao Wai Chan in the women`s singles. The men`s doubles featured a new pairing of Chirag Shetty and MR Arjun, who easily defeated Pui Chi Chon and Vong Kok Weng with a score of 21-15, 21-9.

The women`s doubles duo of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand capped off the match with a dominant 21-10, 21-5 win against Ng Weng Chi and Pui Chi Wa, ensuring India did not drop a single game throughout the tie. This comprehensive victory secured India`s place in the knockout stage, setting the stage for their next challenge against South Korea.
