India`s badminton team faces a tough challenge at the 2025 BAMTC without PV Sindhu due to injury.

The 2025 Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships (BAMTC) kick off on February 11 in Qingdao, China, featuring a competitive lineup of teams. India, the bronze medalists from the previous edition, will be without their star player, two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu, who has withdrawn due to a hamstring injury sustained during training in Guwahati. Despite her attempts to compete with heavy taping, an MRI indicated a longer recovery period than anticipated.

India is placed in Group D, where they will face formidable opponents, including former runners-up South Korea and Macau China. The Indian squad will begin their campaign against Macau China on February 12, followed by a crucial match against South Korea on February 13. The team now comprises 13 players, with key male athletes like Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, Chirag Shetty, Lakshya Sen, and HS Prannoy, while the women`s side includes Malvika Bansod, Treesa Jolly, Gayathri Gopichand, Ashwini Ponappa, Tanisha Crasto, and Aadya Variyath.

The tournament will follow a group stage format from February 11 to 13, leading into the quarterfinals on February 14, semifinals on February 15, and culminating in the finals on February 16.
