China`s Li Shifeng Makes History at Malaysia Masters

Li Shifeng`s historic win at the Malaysia Masters highlights China`s badminton dominance, with Wang Zhiyi also defending her title.

China showcased its badminton prowess at the 2025 Malaysia Masters, clinching four out of five titles in a stunning display of skill and determination. In the men’s singles final, Li Shifeng etched his name in history by becoming the first Chinese player to win the title. He dominated India’s Kidambi Srikanth, securing a decisive victory with scores of 21-11, 21-9 in just 36 minutes.

Wang Zhiyi successfully defended her women’s singles title in a gripping showdown against fellow Chinese player Han Yue. After a fierce battle that lasted 75 minutes, Wang emerged victorious with scores of 13-21, 21-13, 21-18, showcasing her resilience and tactical acumen.

In the men’s doubles, Malaysia’s own Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun triumphed over their compatriots Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, adding a local flavor to the event.
