Kentucky Stars Shine at Rod McCravy Meet


The Rod McCravy Memorial track and field meet showcased impressive performances from the University of Kentucky athletes on January 10, 2025. Julia Gunnell competed in the Women’s High Jump, finishing 15th with a jump of 1.58m. In the Men’s High Jump, Donsten Brown and Devin Sealey placed 12th and 14th, respectively, with jumps of 1.95m and 1.90m.

Morgan Davis made a significant impact in the Women’s Long Jump, securing second place with a leap of 6.07m. Teammates Aliyah Adams and Sophie Galloway followed closely, finishing 10th and 11th with jumps of 5.74m and 5.71m. Kate Powers set a new school record in the Women’s Weight Throw, achieving a distance of 21.64m.

In the sprints, Oneika McAnnuff and Hannah Douglas excelled in the Women’s 300m, finishing first and second with times of 37.48 and 37.55, respectively. Cha’iel Johnson set a school record in the Women’s 600m with a time of 1:32.15. Sharmelle Holmes and Victoria Perrow also performed well in the Women’s 200m, finishing third and sixth.

The Men’s 200m saw Shavique Bascus take the top spot with a time of 21.28. In the Women’s Triple Jump, Sophie Galloway and Aliyah Adams secured second and third places. Victoria Perrow continued her strong performance by winning the Women’s 60m with a personal record of 7.25.

The Kentucky ‘A’ team triumphed in the Women’s 4×400 relay, while the Men’s ‘A’ team finished second in their relay event.

In Scotland, the Glasgow Cross Challenge featured McKenna and Crowe as winners, contributing to the UK Athletics Cross Challenge series. However, specific details on scores and player statistics from this event were not provided.
