English Athletes Shine at International U18 Mountain Cup

English athletes excel at the International U18 Mountain Running Cup, showcasing the future of athletics in the UK.

Eight talented English athletes recently showcased their skills at the 18th International U18 Mountain Running Cup in Slovakia, marking a significant moment for mountain running in the country. Their performances highlighted the promising future of this demanding discipline, as they tackled the rugged terrain with determination and grit.

Meanwhile, preparations are ramping up for the AJ Bell Great North 10k, with the Masters team announced and ready to compete in this prestigious road race. The Masters Half Marathon team is also gearing up to face off against competitors from Wales and the UK Armed Forces, reflecting the vibrant spirit of endurance events across the nation.

In a bid to inspire further participation, England Athletics is promoting trail running this summer, drawing on Catherine Cowie`s exhilarating experience in the Summer Spine Race. This initiative encourages athletes to embrace off-road challenges and expand their horizons.

The recent Para Championships in Paris saw exceptional performances from England`s para-athletes, showcasing the depth of talent within adaptive athletics. On the coaching front, Paul Moseley’s journey is being highlighted, alongside the formation of a new Vision Group aimed at reviewing participation and proposing changes to UK Athletics Rules for Competition.
