Shaw and Hodgkinson excelled at the British Indoor Championships, securing key victories ahead of the European Indoor Championships.

The British Indoor Championships at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham showcased elite athletic talent on February 24-25, 2025. Zac Shaw from Cleethorpes sprinted to victory in the men`s 60m final, clocking an impressive 7.07 seconds. Emma Nwofor triumphed in the women`s 60m hurdles, finishing in 8.02 seconds.

In the field events, Tom Gale soared to gold in the men`s high jump, clearing 2.30m, while Keely Hodgkinson dominated the women`s 800m with a remarkable time of 1:57.71. Neil Gourley secured the men`s 1500m title, crossing the line in 3:41.20. Sophie McKinna excelled in the women`s shot put, achieving a throw of 18.82m, and Harry Coppell won the men`s pole vault with a clearance of 5.80m.

Jazmin Sawyers leapt 6.73m to claim gold in the women`s long jump, and Alex Haydock-Wilson finished first in the men`s 400m with a time of 46.09 seconds. Laviai Nielsen took the women`s 400m title in 51.68 seconds. Notably, Sophie Hahn excelled in the para-athletics events, winning the women`s T38 60m.

These championships served as a crucial qualifier for the upcoming European Indoor Championships in Torun, Poland, from March 7-9, 2025. British Athletics will utilize these results to finalize the team representing Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
