Philippines secures bronze in Sepak Takraw at Asian Games, while Malaysia prepares for major upcoming tournaments.

The Philippines showcased their resilience on the international stage by securing a bronze medal in the men’s quadrant Sepak Takraw competition at the 19th Asian Games. Despite a fierce battle against Indonesia, the Filipino team’s determination shone through, adding a significant accolade to their overall medal tally at the Games.

Meanwhile, Malaysia is gearing up for an exciting year ahead, preparing to host the 2024 Sepak Takraw World Cup from May 17-27, 2024. The national team is also set to welcome the 2025 Asian Cup Sepak Takraw Championship in May. Notably, former national team captain Muhammad Afifuddin Mohd Razali is making a comeback to the squad for the Bihar World Cup, promising to bring experience and skill to the team.

In the ongoing Sepak Takraw League (STL) 2025, the Kelantan Warriors triumphed over ATM Guardians in a thrilling Division 1 group stage match. The Royal Thai Airforce team faced a challenging season, finishing the 2024 STL Champions Cup without a win, while MGPC Singapore finally celebrated their first victory after two losses. The Perak Bison continued their impressive form, edging past the Royal Thai Air Force in a nail-biting encounter.
