In a thrilling display of skill and determination, Malaysia triumphed over Japan at the Titiwangsa Stadium, clinching the top spot in Group B of the 2025 Sepak Takraw Asia Cup. The Malaysian squad, featuring Amirul Zazwan Amir, Norfaizzul Abd Razak, Muhammad Shahalril Aiman Halim, and Muhammad Fetri Mohd Azwadi, showcased their prowess by overcoming a fierce challenge from their Japanese counterparts.

The match unfolded with Malaysia facing early resistance, but they rallied to secure the first set with a narrow 17-15 victory. The momentum shifted decisively in the second set, where a powerful smash from Muhammad Afifuddin, expertly set up by Amirul Zazwan, sealed the match with a 15-10 win. This victory not only highlighted the team`s resilience but also their strategic execution under pressure.

Coached by Mohammad Zulkarnain Abdul Rahman, the Malaysian team now looks ahead to the semi-finals, where they await their next opponent, determined by the outcome of the Group A clash between South Korea and Vietnam.
