NPFL: Niger Tornadoes Unveils New Players Ahead Of The New Football Season.

 

 

New players that will adorn the famous Niger Tornadoes' sky blue jersey for the forthcoming Nigeria Professional Football League 2022/2023 season have been unveiled to the press, supporters' club and the management of Niger State Ministry Of Youth Sports Development. 

 

The unveiling ceremony took place at the Club's Secretariat Complex Ministry Of Sports Development, Minna. 

 

Addressing the new players during the unveiling ceremony, the Hon. Commissioner Of Youth Sports Development, Mamman Musa Bosso who was ably represented by the Director Of Sports in the Ministry, Alhaji Baba Sheshi, while well-coming the new players said, Tornadoes is precious to the State and is endeared in the hearts of Nigerlites, hence the need for the players to brace up for the new challenge in their new environment. 

 

The Director also took turn to urge the 

players to be disciplined, committed and dedicated. 

 

While assuring the players and Management of the Ministry's continuous support to the Club, the Director commended the team for an outstanding performance it recorded last season and called for an improved performance to commensurate with State Governments' expenditure on the team.

 

..."We want to see the team challenging for a continental slot next season". Baba Sheshi said.

 

He assured the players of constant payment of their monthly entitlements, saying that, Niger Tornadoes is not a salary owing Club.

 

Alhaji Baba Sheshi added that, the Niger State Government is doing everything possible to fix the Bako Kontagora stadium Minna to allow the team play her home matches in Minna.

 

Delivering his speech at the ceremony, the Chairman Niger Tornadoes Management Committee, Hon. Adamu Aliyu Mohammed who was represented by the Club's Vice Chairman Musa Matane, expressed satisfaction for the quality and high profile players the Technical Crew had assembled and urged the players to feel at home, settle down and enjoy the natural resources the State is endowed with.

 

Also speaking was the Chairman Niger State Football Association, Comrade Ahmed Yusuf (Fresh) represented by NSFA Board member Mall. Awaisu Barau Kuta, who said, as the custodian of football in the state, the FA will ever remain solidly behind the team.

 

He charged the Technical Crew to continue with their good work, saying there would always be reactions and counter reactions from the public as regards the runnings of the club but they should not get distracted and rather concentrate on building a solid team that will continue to flag the State's flag high.

 

In his remark, the Technical Adviser Of Niger Tornadoes Abubakar Bala Mohammed thanked the Management of the Club and the Sports Ministry for utmost support accorded the team and said with maximum financial support from the State Government, the team will topple last season's performance and challenge for a place on the continent.

 

Highlight of the occasion was the symbolic signing of contract terms, unveiling of the players and cash donations to Lukman Mohammed, Sunday Akinmoladun and Ifeanyi Okoye for their outstanding performances last season.
