Two first half goals by Kari Boyi and Tereyamba Jibrinmakes were enough to help defending champions of the Adamu Yola Gombe South Unity Cup, Balanga United, secure a 2-0 victory against Junge United in the opening game of the sixth edition of the championship.

Boyi put the reigning champions ahead in the 13th minute of the game with a bottom corner shot while Jibrinmakes making it two just six minutes later.

All efforts by the cup holders to increase the tally were frustrated by Junge United as the game ended 2-0.
