[Nigeria] Osahon, Aduku Want Aiteo Cup Title As Compensation For Super Six Failures

The chief coaches of two finalists in the Women Aiteo Cup final, Emmanuel Osahon and Moses Aduku, have declared their readiness to win the Cup at the final of this year's edition of the competition scheduled for the mainbowl of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, tomorrow, August 8, 2021.

Osahon, a former Nigerian league player like Aduku, told NWFL Media, Saturday afternoon, in an interview that, he is more than determined to win the Aiteo Cup 2021 title, as consolation for the bitter loss of the 2020/2021.

"We were close to winning the NWFL Premiership title at the Super Six played in Ijebu-Ode and were just 90 minutes away from the league title until my players lost concentration against Delta Queens and we lost the title which was eventually taken away by Rivers Angels FC of Port Harcourt.

"My players were still brooding over the sad loss until the commencement of the Aiteo Cup, where we all resolved to win the 2021 Aiteo Cup title consolation. The girls don't want to cry again but to celebrate.

"We know the pedigree of Bayelsa Queens, but with determination, focus and desire to win, we shall triumph over them no matter the opposition from them.  We have played against them in recent times and know our opponent strong and weak point. FC Robo will not take chances against Bayelsa Queens. Our destiny is in our hands, we won't let is slip away for the second time this year," Emmanuel Osahon said.

For the Bayelsa Queens Chief Coach, he said he won't to talk much ahead of the finals but he would allow the ball speak by itself when his girls confront FC Robo girls in tomorrow final.

"If I want to win the Women Aiteo Cup title tomorrow or not, we shall all see tomorrow during the game. And will only talk about the game after the finals.

"My girls are ready for the battle for the Women Aiteo Cup final, that is all I want to say now until after game when I will say more about the determination of the team to stay at the pinnacle of women's football in Nigeria."

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the NWFL, Aisha Falode, admonished the two NWFL Premiership leading clubs to give their best exhibiting the great football revolution that came with the 2020/2021 NWFL Premiership Super Six at the Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode.

Falode said: "The two teams have come a long way, and I wish them an injury free game on Sunday in Benin City. Most importantly let the best team win."

The women Aiteo Cup final has been slated to kick off at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, tomorrow at 4pm.
