Tokyo2020: Ese Brume Through To Women's Long Jump Final

Ese Brume has qualified has the women long jump final after beating the qualification mark in her last attempt.

 

The Commonwealth GOLD medalist take an early lead in the women's Long Jump Group B Qualifiers with first jump measures in at 6.68m (+0.2m/s), ahead of her rival Malaika Mihambo's 6.64m. 

 

But was overtaken after she had a rather modest leap of 6.55m (-0.1m/s) in her second attempt, therefore losing her lead to Serbia's Ivana Spanovic, who bounded out to 7.00m.

 

Bruce finished 4th in the group with a jump of 6.76  behind Malone Chantel of British Island with a Jump of 6.82, Mihambo Malaika of Germany with a Jump of 6.98 and Serbia Ivana Spanovic who had a jump of 7.00 to finish as leader of Group B

 

The automatic qualifying mark is set at 6.75m with the overall best 12 athletes booking their place in the final.
