EXPOSED: Ladan Bosso Defrauds Nigeria Football Coaches Association, Executives Demand Explanation

President of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association, Ladan Bosso is currently facing the heat from members and executives of the national body for Nigerian coaches after he confessed to diverting funds meant for the association into his private purse.

The worrisome revelation was made on Monday when executive members of the association held a virtual meeting to discuss matters concerning their finances, recent courses for coaches, amongst other relevant subjects.

Bosso made the confession when he was quizzed about the missing money that was paid to the organization by the Football Coaches Association of African Nations, FCAAN, a global football coaches platform. After securing approvals from the Nigeria football federation, FCAAN held a coaching programme in Nigeria in 2019 and thereafter paid two hundred and seventy-five thousand Naira (275,000) as royalty to the Nigeria football coaches association; but the money was diverted into Bosso’s private account.

When asked to provide details of how the money was expended, he explained that he used the sum to fund projects on behalf of the Nigeria football federation. Bosso’s explications were considered absurd by members of the Coaches Association who have ostensibly lost confidence in his leadership.

The Football Coaches Association of African Nations, FCAAN recently staged courses in Lagos, Akure and Port harcourt under the auspices of the Nigeria football federation and duly notified the Nigeria coaches Association via a letter. But Ladan Bosso misled the committee of Nigerian coaches about the authenticity of the FCAAN courses which led to the recent misinformation by the association’s secretary general, Stanley Eguma who erroneously told reporters in Port Harcourt that FCAAN is not approved nor recognized by the Nigeria football federation. This is considered a scheme by Ladan Bosso to undermine the coaching programme and misinform the general public because of his failed attempts to extort FCAAN before and after the just concluded courses.

Ladan Bosso, a former National Under-20 coach has been advised to refund every money he received in his private account on behalf of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association before their next meeting, as this will be the first step to right his many wrongs within the association.
