Liberty Professionals have struggled for a larger part of the season churning out inconsistent displays especially at home. The Scientific soccer lads fell 2-0 to Bechem United on match day 18 of the Premier League and Elmina Sharks are next in line on match day 19 on Saturday.
The game will take place at the Red Bull Arena at Sogakope due to the closure of the Carl Reindforf Park.
The Dansoman lads have not won a Premier League game since February 7. Kwame Karikari scored the winning goal when they beat AshantiGold 1-0 at the Len Clay stadium and in their bid to preserve their Premier League status, a number of acquisitions were made for the second round of the League with Evans Owusu (Free agent), Prosper Ahiabu (WAFA), Fuseini Mohammed (Inter Allies) and Razak Boame joining from Bechem United for the second round of the campaign.
These arrivals have yet to impact positively on their fortunes as they sit in 17th place in the log, only two points richer than bottom club Inter Allies.
Elmina Sharks are unbeaten in the last two games, a 1-0 win against Asante Kotoko and Ebusua Dwarfs and trek to Sogakope with an aim of continuing their smooth start to the second round under new coach Nii Odartey Lamptey.
The former Ghanaian International took over from Yaw Acheampong four weeks ago and has guided them to two wins in two games conceding none and scoring two.
James Bissue, Benjamin Boateng, Alhaji Mustapha, Richard Mpong and Daniel Nii Adjei are players with loads of experience and their contribution to the club in the season cannot be over emphasized.
Elmina Sharks have scored 19 goals and conceded 22 in their last 18 League games and sit in the bottom half of the table, 13th with 23 points. They picked a point against WAFA in their last visit to Sogakope.
