[Tunisia] Twenty-Six teams registered to 2021 Men’s African Club Championship in Tunisia

After being cancelled in 2020 due to Covid-19 Pandemic, the Men’s and Women’s African club championships returned back to the scene with great interest of African clubs to join the prestigious event. 

 

 The Men’s event which was decided by CAVB to be held in Sousse, Tunisia on April 16 to 28, 2021 featured 26 registered teams till now reflecting the great interest for the African clubs from all the continental zones to resume the activity. 

 

 The Women’s edition will be hosted also in Sousse, May 16 to 28, 2021. 

 

 The registered clubs to Men’s competition are Sfax, Esperance (Tunisia), Nemostars (Uganda), Wolaita Dicha, Madda Walabu University, Mugher Cement (Ethiopia), FAP (Cameroon), Ahly Tripoli, Ittihad Misurata, Swehly (Libya), VC Price, Espoir, Police (RDC), Amel Tlemcen, Bourj Bouarirj (Algeria),  Rukinzo (Burundi), Nigeria Customs, Energy Group, APR (Rwanda), Kenya Ports Authority, GSU, Prisons (Kenya), University of Zimbabwe, JKT, Jeshi Stars and Afunzo (Tanzania). 

 

 CAVB President Mrs Bouchra Hajij said:

 

 “We aim to resume our beloved sport although the tough medical situation in the whole world now. We succeeded last match to finish 3 out of 4 age Group competitions and now we are approaching the cliub championships which is the most attractive competition in out continent.”

 

 “We hope our volleyball Family take all the precautionary measures during both men and women competitions to return back home safe and encourage us to start our strategy soon.” She added
