[Zambia] FAZ Secure Morocco Friendly for U17

The Football Association of Zambia has secured an international friendly match for the Zambia Men's Under-17 National team against Morocco U17 to be played on Thursday March 11.

The friendly match that will be played at 15:00hours local time(16:00hours CAT) comes two days after CAF announced the cancellation of the 2021 Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations due to coronavirus concerns.

FAZ Technical Director Lyson Zulu says the friendly match is important as it will give an opportunity to the Young Chipolopolo to shake off the disappointment of not playing the tournament.

"We are thrilled to have secured this friendly match with Morocco which will enable the boys to have a feel of playing at the highest level on the continent," Zulu said.

"It would have been unfortunate if the team went back to Zambia without playing any match and as FAZ, we feel that this match is a good test for the boys considering that Morocco was in the same group as us."

Zambia were placed in Group A alongside Morocco, Ivory Coast and Uganda for the tournament that would have kicked off on 13 March.
