WAFU20 CAF Qualifiers: "We Are Going For The Win Against Ivory Coast" -Zubairu

The Flying Eagles had their training sessions on Tuesday morning at the Stade Agaza Omnisport ahead of their last group game against Ivory Coast on Thursday.

The Flying Eagles lost their first match 1-0 to Burkina Faso while Ivory Coast beat Burkina Faso 1-0.  Nigeria need a win Thursday to book their place in the Semifinals.

Coach Aliyu Zubairu while speaking to journalists during their training sessions said they are well prepared because the three points against Ivory Coast is the only thing that will sustain the team in the Competition.

" What we observed as our shortcomings in the last match is deficiency. We have been working on it to make sure that it does not repeat itself and the players are responding to it which is a enough sign we are ready for the game"

"Of course we know the importance of the match, and the boys equally knows the importance of the match.  The three points in the game is the only thing that can sustain us in the competition. "

Adding That having more resting days ahead of the final group game than Ivory Coast is an advantage to his team " It is to some extent considering the weather condition here when we played the first match, it wasn't easy but now we have gotten enough time to rest and the body to recuperate so that we can get enough energy to confront the second match".

The Flying Eagles will be against Ivory Coast in a must win final group B game on Thursday at the Stade Municipal de Lome.
