Nigeria women edge out Kenya women in the Rugby League in the Middle East Africa qualifiers despite losing the return fixture.
The Kenya Women claims a hard-fought 8-0 points victory in a thrilling return leg contest the Impala Stadium, Nairobi on Sunday.
Kenya needed to win by nine points after going down 22-14 in the first match of the Women’s World Cup qualifier in Africa on Thursday afternoon, at the NY Centre in Nairobi.
However, due to tournament technicality where both teams won one each and had the same points difference, and tries, Nigeria Green Falcons wins on goal conversions difference, and advances to the 2025 Rugby League World Cup Series, as they hold an advantage over Kenya in goal difference.
Both teams also made history and contributed to a landmark moment for women’s rugby league in Africa.
