Edo Queens are champions of the CAF Women's Champions League WAFU B Zonal qualifiers after beating Benin Ainonvi 3-0 in the final at the Peace Stadium in Bouake, Ivory Coast.
The Nigeria Champions who won their matches in the Zonal qualifiers also book the WAFU B sole ticket to the CAF Women's Champions League.
The Benin City-based team showcased their dominance in the group stage, winning all their three matches and scoring nine goals without conceding.
They began their campaign with a 5-0 rout of AS Garde from Niger, followed by a convincing 3-0 win against Ghana’s Hasaacas Ladies. A narrow 1-0 victory over Omnisport Etincelle secured their position as group leaders.
In the Semifinals, They beat host team Inter FC 2-1 before rounding up their qualifiers campaign with a 3-0 over Ainonvi of Benin Republic to become the third Nigeria team after Rivers Angels and Bayelsa Queens to qualify for the CAF Women's Champions League.
The host country for the 2024 edition will be appointed during the General Assembly to be held in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, on 10 October 2024.
